With a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU), Michael's journey began with a strong technical foundation, which later evolved into a thriving career in business and finance. Michael's ability to bridge the gap between engineering principles and financial strategies is a testament to their versatile skill set.

Michael's career highlights include an impressive tenure as the Operational and Finance Manager for a family company, achieving a remarkable annual gross revenue of $4 million. This accomplishment underscores Michael's expertise in driving growth and financial prosperity, making them a respected figure in the industry.

Beyond their professional achievements, Michael is a devoted family person, celebrating a decade of marriage and raising three wonderful children. Their commitment to family values and work-life balance is evident in their personal life.

In addition to their role at UIG, Michael also takes on the position of Project Manager for rental lots and buildings in the upstate. In this capacity, they leverage their extensive knowledge and experience to optimize property management and enhance financial performance.

Joel is a managing partner and Co-Founder of Upward Investment Group. He is focused on acquisitions, dispositions, investor relations and underwriting. 

Joel has held a number of sales leadership positions for a large technology distributor and also spent five years in the financial services industry. His real estate experience is primarily in single-family rentals.

 With over 20 years of sales experience, combined with his  leadership and business experience, Joel is in a position to provide value to investors by focusing on acquiring value-add properties with capital appreciation potential.
